Frequently asked questions

Questions that often come up before building a website

I’ve gathered the most common questions about the website design process, costs and options, so you can see more easily what to expect when planning a new or refreshed website.

How much does a website cost?

The price of a website depends mainly on its size, features and any bespoke requirements. A simple introduction page takes less work, while a multi-page company website with online booking, quote requests or other custom features is a more complex project. At Motivum Web Studio I assess each business’s needs before every project and prepare a clear, tailored quote.

What costs come with a company website?

Besides the fee for building the website, you should budget for the yearly cost of the domain and hosting, and in some cases premium plugins or external services. Maintenance costs may also come up later. I help you see all of this during planning, so you know in advance which one-off and recurring costs to expect.

How much does a simple introduction website or landing page cost?

A one-page website or landing page can usually be built for less than a full company website. Here, too, the price depends on the amount of content, the bespoke design and the features needed. A well-structured one-page website is an especially good choice for new businesses or for presenting a specific service, event or campaign.

Which online platform is best for a small business website?

There’s no answer that fits every business. The right system depends on what you want to use the site for, which features you need, and how much you’d like to manage it yourself later. At Motivum Web Studio I mainly work with WordPress websites, because they can be developed flexibly and, when set up well, they’re easy to manage day to day.

How is a website built, step by step?

We start by getting to know your business, your goals and your clients. Then I create the website’s content structure and visual concept, followed by the design and technical build. Before finalising, I check the site on mobile and desktop, and I help you learn to use it with confidence afterwards.

How should I choose a web designer for my business?

It’s worth looking at their previous work, their process and how much they try to understand the business itself. A website works well in the long run when design, content and technical solutions all serve the same business goal. Another important point is how easy the finished system will be for you to manage after handover.

How long does it take to build a business website?

The time it takes depends on the complexity of the project and the content available. A smaller site can be ready faster, while a larger website with several services and custom features needs more planning. We agree on the expected timeline and the materials needed when I send the quote.

Do I need a website if I’m already on Facebook or Instagram?

Social media is a great communication channel, but your own website gives your business a stable home online. You can present your services, references, contact details and all the key information in one place, and become findable on Google search too. That’s why social platforms and a website complement each other well.

Is a WordPress website a good choice for small businesses?

For many businesses, yes. WordPress is flexible, can be extended later and, when set up well, is easy to manage. It works for many kinds of business, from a simple introduction website to a more complex service provider site.

Will I be able to edit my website myself?

Yes. It matters to me that the finished website is comfortable to use every day. With the right setup, you can later edit basic content such as text, images or certain service details yourself. At handover I also help you get to grips with managing the site.

What do I need to provide for the website?

Typically I’ll need your business’s basic details, services, logo, brand elements, images and the information that will appear on the website. If your copy isn’t ready yet or you’re unsure about the structure, that’s not a problem: during planning I help you work out what content and structure you’ll need.

Can a beautiful website still be ineffective?

Yes. Looks are only part of a website that works well. A clear structure, the right content, fast performance, mobile usability and making the next step easy to find – such as requesting a quote, getting in touch or booking a call – all matter.

When is it worth refreshing or redesigning an existing website?

If the site is slow, hard to use on mobile, looks dated, is difficult to edit, or no longer reflects where your business is today, it’s worth considering a redesign. The same applies if you’re left with too much manual back-and-forth that the website could partly handle for you.

How can a website help me get more enquiries?

A well-structured website makes it clear what you do, who you help and with what problem, and makes getting in touch easy. Search-optimised content can also help people who are looking for exactly your service find you on Google.

Do you build websites for businesses based in Debrecen?

Yes. I work with businesses in Debrecen and across Hungary. Most of our work together runs smoothly online, so distance is rarely an obstacle. The goal is always a well-thought-out website that fits the way the business works, its brand and its clients.
